This project challenged us to create a mock-up of a web design for an online store, showing 3 different product pages that would be viewed after clicking on the product. The pages had to include the manufacturer or brand, price, size selection, color selection, a description, and multiple images of the product with a clear indication of which is selected in addition to an "Add to Cart" button. I chose to make an elegant design for dress shoes that highlights the high class nature of the products and a sleek interface showcasing their modern appeal.
This assignment asked us to redesign the interface for the Netflix streaming service. We could take our design and go any direction we chose, with the limitations that we had to use the Netflix logo and keep the brand's colors as the prominent choice. I chose to use a more subdued background to allow the visual elements of the posters to be more prominent. The interface uses the same layout and controls and works the same across multiple devices, television, mobile, online, and more. The information that can be seen increases in complexity as you progress further through the pages, making sure that the viewers are not overwhelmed with information early on during their browsing.
This is a mock-up of the main page of Netflix, visible when the user first launches it.
This is an example of what happens when the user selects a show.

This project centered around locating two movie posters and combining the two into a singular piece that took elements of both posters and combined them into a cohesive compilation. The two movies selected for my poster were The Sound of Music and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
The first challenge was to find posters that would look good when placed together, and both of these movie posters used hand painted artwork which enhanced the clarity and natural blending of the elements in the piece. The layout was chosen based on the pyramidal structure from the Star Wars poster. The typography on the Sound of Music poster was not legible, which necessitated the finding of a matching font and retyping the elements manually. It also required locating and matching the logos and rating of the film in addition to the title text.
For this project we were tasked with taking a variety of different images, combining them into one utilizing linked files, then adjusting environmental effects like lighting and shadows to unify those in the image to appear as though they were all placed here originally. Each individual person in this image is a separate file and has multiple adjustments made to make ensure that the appearance is as natural as possible.
For this project we were asked to utilize Photoshop's editing abilities to create dynamic type effects beyond what is typically done with the inbuilt typographic manipulation tools. These effects can provide an additional level of dynamism that can make a logo, document or web page more visually appealing.
